When it comes to commercial bar refrigeration, the options are unlimited! From custom
back bars to off-the-shelf options, you can design a well laid out, functional work area that
will keep your employees happily interacting with guests in the seats.
One of the most common types of commercial refrigeration in the bar is the “back bar”
– generally available in black doors, glass doors and stainless steel doors, these are by
far, the most common commercial refrigeration units in the bar. Back bar coolers can be
stand alone units for cans and bottles. Or, they can be considered a “direct draft” unit that
can hold kegs for dispensing draft beer.
Just like draft, wine connoisseurs have their own commercial refrigerator too! Wine
coolers can be stand alone units that house 100 bottles or more or a separate door or
drawer in a back bar to optimize wine at it’s best kept temperature for wines by the glass.
Custom wine rooms are just one example of making your wine the showcase of your
establishment but commercial refrigeration can ensure you have the best option while
not breaking the bank.
And while beer and wine have created their own refrigeration category need in recent
years, some other trends faded into the background. In the past, bottle and mug chillers
were a large feature of a back bar, housing the cold mugs for cold beer. But, with the
changes in trends, this option is certainly becoming less of a feature as custom cocktails
and craft beer become more of a mainstay in the bars and restaurants of today.
