TYPES OF SERVERS

Satellite servers come in all shapes and sizes and with various

features. The most basic satellite server is the customary

black TF Server. Some come with visual or digital fill gauge for

ease of use for operators and others come with those features

and in addition a soft heat system to keep the brewed coffee at

the optimal serving temperature without burning the contents.

Decanters

Satellite Servers

These insulated servers are perfect for brewing a batch of coffee

for service in another location or for lower turnover needs when

brewing pots of coffee. Brewers can brew into an airpot and, with

a push button or lever action, will dispense a hot cup quickly and

easily. These are great for buffet or self-service applications. The

challenge with air pots is that it is not easy to identify when they

need to refilled so do require staff to monitor regularly.

Air Pots

This is traditional coffee pot in glass or plastic 64 oz decanter.

These decanters require a heating element to keep the coffee

warm and, as such, if they are left for long periods, the coffee

will burn. Therefore, they are meant for high turn-over needs.

Tim Hortons used the “Always Fresh” every 20 minutes slogan

so customers knew it was fresh, not sitting in a decanter

for hours. Decanter coffee service is popular in diners and

breakfast establishments to keep up with the demand for

coffee.
