Reach Ins vs. Glass Door Merchandisers
Although there are many similarities between Reach-Ins (covered in the Back-of-House
section) and Glass Door Merchandiers, there are several key differences.
MERCHANDISERS
Refrigerated and frozen merchandisers come in many shapes and sizes. When we speak
of “merchandisers”, we are referring to a unit designed to display or merchandise goods to
consumers. These units sometimes make their way in to the kitchen or back of house as a way
of keeping items cold and visable for easy access for staff; however, it is important to know
that not all merchandisers are created equal and some have special requirements for optimal
temperature management.
